VARIANTE

The name comes from the Italian word meaning variation or alternative. It reflects the project's main idea of transformation, where one space can develop different identities through changing functions, atmospheres and time.

Variante changes throughout the day. In the morning it works as a café and brunch space, offering a calmer and more relaxed experience. As the day moves into the evening, the space shifts into a restaurant and gradually transforms into a jazz bar. Later at night the musicians begin to move through the space while performing, allowing music to spread beyond the stage and become part of the whole experience.

While the restaurant offers a refined and social atmosphere, the jazz bar shifts into a more rustic, intimate mood inspired by New Orleans jazz culture. This contrast lets visitors experience two different moods within the same place, reflecting Berlin's layered character and its culture of spaces with multiple identities.
